Living Faith, Sharing Jesus

About the minister

I am evangelical, progressive, traditional and independent. Some would say 'stubborn'. I believe in one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that the Bible is the Word of God and as such is entirely reliable and trustworthy for guidance and living a good and useful life. I have no time for views that wish to undermine or devalue that position because it makes no sense to me at all to base life and governance on articles that are then disparaged.

I did not come up 'through the system'; I became a Christian by free choice in 1986 and spent 11 years in ministry of various kinds before being ordained by the Church of Scotland in 1997..

I am married to Kathryn, we have no children but we do have a fine chocolate lab called 'Odo'. This is him with his pal Rory.

He is not named after Odo, the Bishop of Bayeaux, as someone suggested; he is named after the character of the same name in Star Trek DS9!

I love history, but I am not in bondage to it. I believe that life is to be lived today not shackled to what always was. For this reason I don't have time for the meaningless.

I cannot read music, though I play guitar and sing a bit. My mother always said I could get a tune out of the kitchen sink if it had mouthpiece - I tried it once and guess what, I could! My hobbies are all based on music and recording - I have an extensive collection of recording equipment gathered over the years and from time to time make my own cds.
